Meditation – today’s gift to the business world
Meditation is a simple mental technique that strengthens the possibility of stress and provides clarity and profits. Research shows that people/leaders meditating show greater leadership presence and thus have a better feel for its employees. Moreover, the number of sick leave and terminations due to stress increased sharply in the labour market. It is a strength for both employer and employees if the employees have access to daily meditation.
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche
Born in 1975 in the Himalayan border regions between Tibet and Nepal, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a rising star among the new generation of Tibetan Buddhist masters. From a young age, Rinpoche was drawn to a life of contemplation. He completed nearly ten years of intensive retreat practice before he was twenty years old. At the age of seventeen, he was invited to be a teacher at his monastery’s three-year retreat centre, a position rarely held by such a young lama. He also spent extended periods studying the classics of Buddhist philosophy and psychology.
In addition to extensive training in the meditative and philosophical traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, Mingyur Rinpoche has also had a lifelong interest in Western science and psychology. He grew up learning about these disciplines from Francisco Varela and other well-known neuroscientists and psychologists, many of whom came to visit his father, the renowned meditation master Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche. Mingyur Rinpoche was later asked to participate as a research subject in some of the first studies of advanced meditators, conducted by Richard Davidson at the University of Wisconsin.
Currently, Mingyur Rinpoche teaches throughout the world, with centres on four continents. His candid, often humorous accounts of his own personal difficulties have endeared him to thousands of students around the world.

- How to cultivate focused awareness by using visual objects, sounds, tastes, and other sense objects as a support for meditation
- How to transform physical pain, difficult emotions, and destructive thought patterns using the practice of awareness meditation
- How to deal with distractions and obstacles in meditation, such as excessive thought activity, sleepiness, and discouragement
- How to start a daily meditation practice, including the correct meditation posture and the ideal length of a meditation session
